Kechi Okwuchi: Plane crash survivor makes it to America’s Got Talent finals [Video]

 

Kechi Okwuchi has moved on to the America’s Got Talent finals after she won the Dunkin save.

The Dunkin Save is a process that provides viewers the opportunity to save their favorite contestants from elimination during the live shows.

At the end of her semifinal performance – an emotional rendition of “Don’t Worry About Me” by Frances – all the judges ;Simon CowellHeidi KlumMel B and Howie Mandel, stood up to applaud her.

“Always thot it was so cheesy wen ppl say this but THIS IS MORE THAN I EVER DREAMED! Never been more humbled in my life. Thank u all,” an excited Kechi tweeted.

 

Okwuchi had received a “yes” from each of the four judges after her first performance on the show on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, with her performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

She made it to the lives with her rendition of Donny Hathaway “Song for You” and then to the semi finals with her cover of Katy Perry’s “By the Grace of God.”

During an interactive session on Instagram, Kechi had asked her followers not to vote for her based on her story.

She also said she thinks it would be unfair if she emerges the winner.

On December 10, 2005, Okwuchi became one of the two survivors of the Sosoliso Airline Flight 1145 crash that took the lives of 107 passengers.
